Entry Fees

  • $4.00 per fleece for show only
  • $6.00 per fleece if fleece is also for sale

Entry Deadline: Wool (fleece) entry forms may be submitted any time before Noon on Friday, June 10th, 2011 . The entry itself is also due by Noon on Friday.

Fleeces will be accepted between 9am and Noon on Friday, June 10th. Judging will be open to the public. The judge will comment on each fleece as judged, and comments will be recorded. Fleeces will be on display during the festival, starting at 9am Saturday.

JUDGING

Wool judging will begin Friday at 1:00pm.

Mohair judging will begin Friday at 1:00pm.

If you are unable to attend the festival, you may ship your entries in advance. Please provide return postage and insurance with your entry.

SALES

RAW FLEECES MAY ONLY BE SOLD AT THE FLEECE SHOW/SALE (AND DISPLAYED THROUGHOUT THE FESTIVAL) OR AT THE SUNDAY FIBER STASH SALE.

Sale Hours:

  • Saturday 9am to 5pm
  • Sunday 9am to 3pm

SHOW RULES

  1. A fleece may be entered in just the show, or entered for show and sale. The fee is $4.00 for entry to the show only and $6.00 if the fleece is also entered for sale.
  2. Fleeces for sale must be well skirted and packaged in a clear plastic bag. Remove all tags, neck and belly wool, and any heavy vegetation areas. Any improperly skirted or very dirty fleeces may be disqualified without refund of the entry fee.
  3. All fleeces will be removed from the bag for judging.
  4. All fleeces must have been shorn in 2010 or 2011, represent 12 months or less growth, and come from an animal owned by the exhibitor.
  5. Judges will have the right to add or eliminate classes as necessary, and may reclassify fleeces if improperly entered.
  6. Judging will be based on the Danish system. Each fleece will be judged on its own merits and awarded a blue, red or white ribbon accordingly.
  7. All fleeces must be displayed following judging.
