One knits, weaves, quilts, felts or shibori dyes a beautiful whole cloth. What to do next? Keep it simple.

Create a garment on a par with the artistry of your cloth. Learn to use your fabric to its best. Using the fundamentals of flat pattern kimono drafting, Dennis will help you learn to draft a pattern that drapes and flows for YOUR body!

Students bring: pen, pencil, eraser, flexible tape measure, yard stick or Omnigrid type ruler-24″ min., scissors or rotary cutter for cutting paper, Scotch tape & calculator.

Mixed Media Weaving
Sunday, June 14th, 9am – 12pm

Using the fundamentals of frame weaving, create a woven art piece on most diverse structures. Stirrups, antenna, chair back? We all have specials skeins of yarn or remnants of yarn from previous projects. Perhaps you collect vintage items or family heirlooms. Others may save inspired, spirited items like pedal sewing machine wheel or a uniquely shaped tool. This class will teach you to create a foundation to support a warp and weft. Warp & some extras for weft provided, and a few possibilities for frame.

Students bring: tapestry or yarn needle (6″+),remnants of yarn or strips of fabrics in varied lengths, textures and colors that inspire you!, something to build a warp on that is relatively solid “frame” in any shape. (not too small, not too large) straight tine fork or sturdy wide tooth comb, pencil or pen and note paper.
