Knitting: Better Beginnings and Elegant Endings
Saturday, June 11th 9 am – Noon
Cost: $35

So many of us are wedded to the long tail cast on and pullover bind off, and use them exclusively. Wouldn’t you like to learn some new techniques? Explore the many ways to begin and end your knitting; you may discover a new favorite or two!

Please Bring: Students need to bring 4 oz. of worsted weight yarn in 2 colors and appropriate needles.

Knitting: Infinitely Interesting Cables
Saturday, June 11th 1 pm – 4 pm
Cost: $35

Have you ever wondered if it is possible to make a cable in the shape of a circle? It is! A technique know as infinite cabling allows you to work many kinds of swirls, flourishes and circular motifs into your next cabled garment. Learn the special increase and decrease techniques used in knitting these kinds of cables and to translate knot work designs into knitted cable patterns.

Please Bring: Students need to bring 4 oz. worsted weight yarn in a light color, size US 7, 8 or 9 circular needle, plus cable needle.

Knitting: Short Row Savy
Sunday, June 12th 9 am – Noon
Cost: $35

Short rowing is a useful skill in a knitter’s bag of tricks. This class will explore all the uses for short rowing (including cables!) and present a number of different techniques for making your short rows as superb as possible.

Please Bring: Students need to bring 4 oz. of worsted weight yarn in a light color, size US 7, 8 or 9 circular needle, plus cable needle.

Janet Szabo has written 3 knitting books, taught workshops/classes all over the United States, published her own knitting cables newsletter, Twists and Turns; plus appeared on Knitty Gritty. Her work has been published in Knitter’s, Cast-On and Knitting Now. She is a nationally-known knitting designer and teacher who calls Northwest Montana home.
