Everyone who owns animals and buys hay or straw has a surplus of baling twine. What do you do with all that plastic twine? It’s durable, colorful, and plentiful. You will explore a variety of ways to use baling twine as a unique fiber. Simple knotwork, some easy crochet techniques, even off-loom weaving! This is commodity that we all need to recycle. No prerequisite.
Students should come prepared with: Note-taking materials; fine-tip Sharpie marker; Strong scissors; large-eyed hand sewing needles (tapestry needles) Several lengths (10 is plenty!) of baling twine, different colors if you have them.
