Judy Colvin became interested in fiber arts about 20 years ago when she learned to spin and acquired her first fiber producing animals - angora goats. In 1989, Judy and her husband David hosted the very first Big Sky Fiber Arts Festival at their ranch. In 1991 they started raising Shetland sheep and in 1999 added Bluefaced Leicesters to their flock. She discovered that BFL wool felts beautifully and also discovered the art of felting had been going through some amazing transitions. Judy has taken felting classes with Sherry Konya, Chad Alice Hagen, Pat Sparks, and Ewa Kuniczak of Scotland, plus hosted Australian felter Julie Williams for a week of felting.
