Larry Kaphammer Workshops

Learning to Weave an Overshot Scarf
Friday, June 10th 9 am – 4 pm
Cost: $65

In this workshop you will learn to weave 2 different patterns in overshot, and gain some understanding of the wide range of patterns available. The morning will be spent in a combination of lecture and beginning a short sampler, then 1-2 hours of beginning weaving the scarf. In the afternoon, Larry will share techniques for finishing with much individual attention given to insure success.

Experience Level: Students need to be an intermediate weaver capable of warping your own 12″ or larger table loom to bring to the festival already warped with the neutral colors of bamboo yarn that you will be sent after you register. (Neutral will allow for overdyeing after you finish at home.)

Please Bring: Stick shuttles and note taking material.

Larry Kaphammer is a self taught weaver of the past 20+ years, who does wonderful finish work and has a lot of patience to share with his students. He estimates that he has made 300+ scarves over the years in western Montana, plus a “few” table runners.
