Spinning Beaded Yarn
Sunday 1pm - 4pm $30
Add some “bling” to your yarns by spinning in some beads! Bring three empty bobbins, your “Clever” Kate, and spinning wheel, and enjoy a few hours learning Randy’s NEW technique for spinning beaded yarns. The approach keeps the beads from sliding around on your finished yarn, and you don’t have to string beads on to your fiber. ALL supplies will be provided.
Randy Glick enjoys spinning, weaving and knitting surrounded by the mountains, plains and rivers of north central Montana. He enjoys the challenge of blending his educational background (process engineering) with the fiber arts, taking the processes of spinning, weaving and knitting and exploring ways to perfect the methods. Along the way he has developed improved approaches to many techniques, most notably spinning beaded yarns. Randy has been teaching spinning both formally and informally for a number of years and has won awards for his handspun yarns at the Montana State Fair, Snake River Festival, etc., including a blue ribbon for his wool single, wool plied and buffalo. He has served as the President of the Great Falls Spinners & Weavers Guild and enjoys promoting fiber arts, especially in fiber rich Montana.
