Sharon Hamilton Workshops
Locker Hooking with Yarns
Friday, June 10th 9 am – 4 pm
Cost: $60
The Locker Hook class will get you jump started to create art pieces using wool yarns. In this class you will create a design using Cotton Canvas backing. When you leave class you will have the skills needed to finish a 16” square project that can be made into a pillow, a trivet, wall hanging or a purse. Come to class with an open mind and be prepared to have some fun.
You will learn how to create a design suited to lockerhooking and how to best fill in that design. Next you will begin to use the lockerhook, then finally how to hem/frame the project.
Experience Level: No previous experience is required.
Please Bring: All materials will be provided, but students are encouraged to bring some of their own yarns (in colorways that please them) to incorporate into this project.
Sharon Hamilton is the owner of RiverRunWeaving.com and has a small flock of sheep and two llamas. She uses their fleeces to create high quality hand woven, crocheted, felted, and locker hooked goods.
Retired from the banking industry where her 35 plus years used her Masters degree in Business and Finance, Sharon enjoys her lifestyle, living on a small farm and using fiber to create art underfoot with her area rugs and heirloom-quality saddle blankets. Her locker hooked rugs reflect original art depicting wildlife such as elk and buffalo and domesticated animals, horses, sheep and chickens.
What else could be more fun than living in Montana?
